Transfers and access
Getting around
The MADRING circuit sits inside the IFEMA MADRID exhibition grounds, northeast of the city. Getting there is easy; the trip back is the problem, when tens of thousands of people leave at once. These are your real options.

Before you decide anything
There is no parking at the venue: private vehicles will not be allowed into the circuit area. If your plan involved driving, it needs changing. The one alternative is the official car park at the Metropolitano stadium, 6 km away and linked to the circuit by shuttle. Spaces are limited and booked separately.
Before you pick a way there: check whether your ticket is North or South
MADRING is not one venue, it is two. The organisers put it in these words: «MADRING is divided into two independent areas» and it is «not possible to move between the two zones from inside the circuit». Which one you get is not your choice — your ticket's section decides it, and the station you need changes with it.

Why this comes before everything else
Getting the zone wrong cannot be fixed by walking around inside: you have to leave, go round the venue and come in from the other side. And there is no re-entry.
The four ways to get there
Sorted by what actually tells them apart on Grand Prix day, which isn't price: it's how long it takes you to leave when everyone leaves at once.
The fastest
Metro — Line 8
The fastest and cheapest option from the centre, with direct access to IFEMA MADRID's South Gate and increased frequency on event days.
For
- Fast and direct
- Access to IFEMA's South Gate
- Increased frequency during the GP
Against
- Closes at 01:30
- Crowded when the venue empties
The alternative
Cercanías — Line C-1
Connects Atocha and Chamartín with the circuit area. A good alternative if you're coming from southern Madrid or if line 8 is jammed.
For
- Stops at Atocha, Recoletos, Nuevos Ministerios and Chamartín
- Less crowded than line 8
Against
- A longer walk from the station to the gates
- Lower frequency than the metro
25-40 min from the centre
Taxi or ride-hailing
There will be several signposted taxi ranks around the MADRING, running all day. Cabify and Uber operate in Madrid, but demand will be extreme when the venue closes.
For
- Door to door
- Available 24 hours
- No changes
Against
- Surge pricing at GP peak hours
- Traffic jams on the IFEMA approaches
- Long pick-up queue on the way out
Booked in advance
Private transfer
A chauffeur who collects you at your hotel or the airport and drops you at IFEMA. No waiting, no surge, no sharing. The option that gives you most control if you have meetings or dinners after the circuit.
For
- Price fixed at booking
- Waits for you at the exit
- Ideal straight from the airport
Against
- More expensive than a regular taxi
- Must be booked in advance
From Barajas Airport
Line 8 connects Feria de Madrid with Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, so you can go from plane to circuit without changing lines.
Metro line 8, the fastest
One stop to T1-T2-T3 and three to T4. It's the direct link between the airport and the circuit's station.Private transfer, the most comfortable
If you arrive with luggage or in a group, a chauffeur meets you at the terminal and takes you straight to your hotel or the circuit. Book ahead to lock in the price.
If you're out at night
The metro closes at 01:30. If you are out later than that, these are the night bus lines for the IFEMA and Valdebebas area.
The organisers have confirmed increased frequencies, though they have not detailed which lines will be reinforced.
